Cory Environmental Recycling Services has won a contract with Carlsberg UK to improve its recycling activities at its Northampton brewery and 14 distribution centres nationwide.
A Cory member of staff will be based at the brewery in Northampton, where cans and bottles will be collected for recycling and specialist Kieselguhr filtration bags are separated and sent to an energy from waste plant. At the 14 nationwide distribution centres, containers are being installed for the collection of glass, cans, shrink wrap and cardboard, with the addition of balers where there are sufficient quantities of recyclables.
This is part of Carlsberg UK's continued commitment to its Environmental responsibilities and in this particular case it aims to be diverting 100% of its waste from landfill within 2 years. |
