Wins for Carlsberg UK and Caterpillar Logistics at the Green Apple awards.
Two of Cory Environmental Recycling Service’s clients won awards for environmental best practice at the 2010 Green Apple awards.
The awards were held at the House of Commons at the end of last year and as usual the competition was very strong across the board.
Carlsberg won the gold award for all of the work in partnership with Cory in getting both the Northampton brewery and several of their distribution centres to zero to landfill coupled with impressive recycling figures across the board. Caterpillar won the Silver award for the Desford operation – a great achievement for a single site in these awards – thanks to sterling efforts from the Cory team on site and full support from Cat Logistics management teams at every level.
Paul Morris, Site Services Manager at Cat Logistics’ Desford site said:
“As a recipient of a Green Apple Award, we were extremely pleased to be recognised nationally for our efforts in managing waste at our site.
Caterpillar takes sustainable development seriously and recognises that providing sustainable solutions starts with having sustainable operations.
Since partnering with Cory in early 2009, rapid progress was made to achieve zero landfill & it is particularly gratifying these result are being sustained.
This award and external recognition is a tangible symbol of the results achieved.”
Both companies have put in a tremendous amount of effort to get to where they are with their waste management, implementing and supporting with the recommendations and improvements devised by the Cory team. The coveted Green Apple Awards are a fitting recognition for the work that has gone into creating sustainable waste management solutions.
